Stephen Alpert, long-time friend and co-founder of the second incarnation of Spiteri, was living and working with Jorge Spiteri in Caracas 2011-14. Stephen and Jorge wanted to bring their big hit Amor to a fresh audience. A great jazzy soul singer in Venezuela is Japanese Venezuelan Hana Kobayashi. Stephen was working on various recording projects with Hana and felt she would be ideal for a duet with Jorge on a chilled re-working of the song.
