Call It What You Want (feat. David Price)
A 2 track vocal jazz single (6m 24s) — released October 25th 2010 on Imagenes
"Call It What You Want" is the latest offering from Juan Carlos Laya and Jorge Montiel (otherwise known as Los Charly's Orchestra), the duo responsible for releasing the thoroughly dancefloor-friendly "Chicano Disco Funk" album earlier on this summer.
Their latest release veers slightly away from their 70's funk and soul reference points, instead plumping for a pulsating Gerado Frisina kind of groove. David Price (Spengler and Los Chinches) provides some catchy vocal hooks, and Paul Batik dishes up a delicious jazzy solo. One of 2010's essential Autumn jams.
